Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003

The Act protects children by requiring Scottish Ministers to keep a register of people who are not suitable to work with them.

Anyone on the register is banned from working with children.

The Act also requires organisations to stop these individuals from gaining access to children and to report people for inclusion on the register when necessary.
