Child Poverty Act 2010

The Act made ending child poverty by 2020 a legal goal.

It set 4 national targets and required the UK government to report regularly on progress.

It also required Ministers in Scotland and Northern Ireland to publish their own child poverty strategies. In England, the Act placed duties on local authorities and other delivery partners to take action using a range of measures, with a strong focus on low income and relative poverty.
