Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007

The Act focuses on protecting vulnerable adults from harm.

It requires every local authority to set up a safeguarding committee responsible for helping to protect adults who may be at risk.

It also requires councils and other public bodies to work together so they can identify harm, support the adult, and take action to prevent further risk.
