2.1 The National Context
The work of the National Social Work Agency will support the Scottish Government’s national purpose of creating a more successful country where everyone can flourish through increased wellbeing, social justice and inclusive growth.
Scotland’s National Outcomes collectively describe the Scotland we want to create. As a public body, the National Social Work Agency must consider the National Outcomes in its work, including the ambition that:
- we grow up loved, safe and respected so that we can realise our full potential
- we live in communities that are inclusive, empowered, resilient and safe
- we are well educated, skilled and able to contribute to society
- we have thriving and innovative businesses with quality jobs and fair work for everyone
- we respect, protect and fulfil human rights and live free from discrimination
- we tackle poverty by sharing opportunities, wealth and power more equally
We will play a role in supporting the delivery of national reform agendas, including GIRFEC, The Vision for Justice in Scotland and Keeping The Promise, ensuring a sustainable social work profession remains central to their delivery.
