Summary of aims and desired outcomes of policy
The National Social Work Agency (NSWA) will plan, develop and improve social work in Scotland. It will have oversight of the entire social work profession, affecting adults, children and families, including those being supported by mental health and learning disabilities services and justice services. Support will be provided to social workers throughout their career, from students through to senior leaders. The policy aims to complement existing bodies and roles, providing cooperation where none currently exists.
