We'll begin by finding out what helps with effective coordination of policy‑driven improvement activity and what gets in the way.

We'll look at how to make sure social work practice is shaped by strong research and evidence. We'll consider how to build this into everyday work.

We'll work with partners to develop and test improvement initiatives that support the social work workforce.

New developments

Training for kinship and foster carers

We've been working with the National Trauma Transformation Programme and partners to support development and testing of training for kinship and foster carers and adoptive parents.

We're working to consider what will be needed to develop a national approach to training and implementation.

Skills for Professional Supervision

We've worked with partners to develop a Skills for Professional Supervision course to support social work supervisors.

We've worked with Edinburgh Napier University to test the course. This will help us to consider what is needed to develop a national approach.
